  • Our opinion, based on our guests' reviews: Maui Kamaole is our most popular choice by far, where we put more happy guests than all other properties on the southshore combined. It has a more "upscale feel" to it than the older, high-density properties that predominate the rest of Kihei, similar to what you'd find in Wailea at a much higher price.

MORE OPINION:
This property represents the "best of both worlds": low-density/low-rise structure in south Kihei across the street from one of the best "beach parks" on the southshore. The reason why we recommend it over many others that are either right in Kihei town or on the ocean is that those condos tend to be older/smaller and without a/c plus their prices tend to be higher if they are "oceanfront" which is different from "beachfront", plus not all "beaches" are good for swimming even on the southshore. Walking across the street to get to the beach is more of a "psychological" barrier than an actual one, safe and easy, not as nice a being right on the ocean, of course, but we think a better "value" given the lower price vs. most inferior oceanfront properties, with a couple of notable exceptions, like Sugar Beach and Mana Kai, both of which are on the extreme north and south ends of Kihei This property is also out of the busiest part of Kihei town where there are many shops and restaurants, which are easy to walk/drive to. It can be reached off the Kihei "bypass" highway without having to go through the main part of town, with access to the oceanfront road from a "feeder" road off the bypass, so it is easy to get to/from, which is the same situation that exists if you stayed in Wailea.
